Walking!?!?!

Well not officially walking but Friday night Karlee Grace took 2 steps in the bath tub. I thought it was a freak accident.

Then Sunday night at my parents house in the middle of their Christmas party she did it again, but this time it was more like 6 steps from Trish (my lil sisters best friend) to me. Then again to my mom, and then to Josh and so on! Girl is up to like 6-8 steps at a time WHEN SHE WANTS TO! Little stubborn thing really has not interest, I have kinda pushed her into this!

Guess we will see where it she goes from here.

SANTA...Nope Ms Donna!

WELL it LOOK's like Santa made a stop by our house today however it was just our awesome neighbor Ms. Donna! I could probably return everything I bought and Karlee Grace would still get a redic amount of gifts from her Mimi & Pepaw, Memaw & Grandpa, and then her aunts and uncles. Maybe next year we can get a wrap on the gift's because I don't want Karlee Grace to think the true meaning of Christmas is gifts. I want her growing up knowing we are Celebrating Jesus not Santa! Don't get me wrong, I'm all on board with Santa. Josh and I both grew up with Santa but I don't want Santa to be all the hype. Last Christmas was a fun first but this one is going to be AWESOME!!!!!!

Ms. Donna and Karlee Grace

No need in walking because lil girl got a 4 wheeler.

And she is very excited about it!

Check out that lil smile! Just love it!

Christmas Parade

For years Josh and I have gone to the Christmas Parade so of course we would take Karlee Grace even if it was 42 degrees! However we only stayed for 30 minutes because we were about to FREEZE!!!!!! She loved it though! She was able to see the good stuff (police cars, fire trucks, horses). Her lil face was priceless! Her eyes were lit up with excitement!!

Layers of clothes include: tights, pants, socks, long sleeve onesie and sweatshirt PLUS a fleece blanket!

Oh the excitement!

Trying to keep her lil hands warm (yes I'm a horrible mom who didn't even think about gloves).

Hopefully next year it won't be quite as cold!

****Note: our city rescheduled the parade 2 times for rain (and it didn't even rain those evenings!) so of course it would be freezing the night they ended up actually having it!!!!!

This girl is all the time brushing her hair! I'm so proud! LOL

Who knew coloring would be SO exciting!!!!!!

We went to Mimi's to finish up KG's oh so cute Christmas outfit. She is looking in her toy cabinet, lol.

Christmas Spirit

We have been doing the normal Christmas traditions around here lately.

Starting off with Christmas movies. It has been raining and crazy weather so we have spent a lot of time like this! Moments like these I will cherish forever because these days its hard to get her to sit with me.

Next stop SANTA! LOL

Take a look at last year's Santa visit.

Same baby, same Santa, DIFFERENT reaction! LOL, I called it, KNEW she would cry.

This was the before pictures.

And a little fun afterwards.

Next stop the Prattville Christmas tree lighting.

And of course we need a little Christmas craft.

Sneak Peek at our lil Christmas photo shoot!

I'm sure I will have a gazillion more pictures to post from Christmas events!

Thanksgiving

I have SO much to be thankful for however the stomach virus on thanksgiving is not one of those things you really want! Yes, I have some sort of nasty virus and fell HORRIBLE! I did manage to get myself up and over to my parents (literally laid in the recliner the entire time!).

  • I'm thankful for a husband who made deviled eggs and planned to take Karlee Grace to my parents house even without me.

  • I'm more than thankful for such an amazing lil girl!

  • Thankful for a little sister that captured a few pictures for me.

Karlee Grace's personality shining through!

So much to be thankful for but at this moment I'm thankful for the couch and lifetime movies! LOL

Life Lately

We have been having a lot of fun lately!

Who says you can't blow bubbles INSIDE at 8pm! LOL, you only live once!

As you can see it was fun!

Check out the dollar tree book's I picked up! Karlee Grace loves books and you can't beat the dollar tree!

Lil drummer practicing with the pots. She thinks this is so fun.

I have NEVER put a tree up before Thanksgiving but there is always a first for everything. We got a new prelit tree that has pinecones attached and spins (I'm excited about the new tree!). And Karlee Grace has a mini white tree in her bedroom. She was quite excited about the tree's. She didn't touch however she pointed and squealed.

Now let's see how long we can make it without her pulling the tree down!

wet butt.......

So Monday night we went to Country's for dinner. I dressed KG up so cute (sorry no pic) in some fall colored chevron pants and a top. We go to leave and Josh picks KG who is TOTALLY soaking wet! I was like OMG how in the world! So we go out to the car and all I had was a bag of clothes I had planned to give to goodwill (stuff that had been passed down that I THOUGHT would never get worn). After digging through the bag and finding a not so cute outfit I proceed to change KG. SOMEHOW only one butt cheek had made it in the diaper when she got changed before we left the house, LOL! I have no idea how this happened but the diaper was almost on sideways!!!!! HAHAHA, I guess I was in a hurry. So poor girl get's changed and cleaned up. I wanted to run to Kohl's and Hobby Lobby. I just knew we wouldn't run into anyone............boy was I wrong! My poor child looked like she was wearing some ugly pj's! Guess I need to throw an extra cute outfit in the car just incase something like this happens again!

**To the people we ran into out shopping, I PROMISE Karlee Grace dresses WAY cuter than that! LOL**

Oh and to top it off Josh was walking around Kohl's with KG while I was looking around and when we met back up her cute lil hair bow was MIA!

Not a good night but it will def be one I remember! LOL

Wait..What....We are going to Kentucky!

Every year since I was little we would go my great uncles (my grandma's brothers) farm to hunt. It's family property that has been passed down for years. Josh and I typically go every other year but decided we would not be able to go this year..........or so we thought.

As we went to see my parents and sisters off I hear Josh keep saying we should go. We say our goodbyes and they hit the road. On the oh so long (5 miles) drive back to our house Josh is still mentioning us going. 30 minutes later we are packed and going to print Josh's Kentucky hunting license and on the road! My parents were stopping in north Alabama for dinner so Josh was determined to catch them. I on the other hand was just determined to get as far as we could with KG before stopping. We end up passing my parents (that's right!) and keep on moving, still waiting on KG to stop. FINALLY I made the decision to stop because we were starving and it was becoming obvious that KG was continent. So somewhere in Tennessee we stopped ran in McDonalds (my child DOES NOT eat McDonalds, her choice! but I'm good with that!) and were back in the truck within 30 minutes. Back on the road again. My parents have passed us now but not for long, lol. Ice cream stop (my dad of course) and this gives us the time to catch back up. As we approached the exit in Kentucky we saw the lights of the trailer and we exited off the interstate at the same time.

It was such a fun trip and if we never go back atleast Karlee Grace got to go! The first few days were bow season and EVERYONE saw a TON of deer. My favorite is Saturday morning (opening gun season), laying in my warm bed and hearing the gun shots go off.  I like to guess who shot and the group text messages are so funny.....who shot......sounded like Josh.....Josh did you shoot......no not me.......somebody is hunting the property line right beside me..........

We spent our days with Aunt Judy
watching mickey mouse

Daddy took Karlee Grace for her first four wheeler ride

Then later papaw took her.

A little lunch time visit with her daddy before he headed to the woods again!

Spent some time in the sun getting some of that fresh air.

Playing with Sadie.

Love this picture of these too!

Even got in some cousin lovin.

May not look like much to you but to me there are many memories!

AND of course all the excitement happens after we leave. My sister shot this monster deer, 15 point with a drop tine weighing in close to 300lbs!
(she might as well retire from hunting, they don't get much bigger than this!)

When it was all said and done Josh shot a jacked up deer (missing half the rack), Heath shot a doe, Calvin shot a 4 point, Katie shot a 10 point, dad shot an 8 point and of course Michelle. It was a successful hunting trip.

I could go on and on with the pictures! It's absolutely beautiful farm country!

This was taken November 2008

Same location 2013

I love making memories with my family! Hope to make many more in Kentucky.
