Wait..What....We are going to Kentucky!

Every year since I was little we would go my great uncles (my grandma's brothers) farm to hunt. It's family property that has been passed down for years. Josh and I typically go every other year but decided we would not be able to go this year..........or so we thought.

As we went to see my parents and sisters off I hear Josh keep saying we should go. We say our goodbyes and they hit the road. On the oh so long (5 miles) drive back to our house Josh is still mentioning us going. 30 minutes later we are packed and going to print Josh's Kentucky hunting license and on the road! My parents were stopping in north Alabama for dinner so Josh was determined to catch them. I on the other hand was just determined to get as far as we could with KG before stopping. We end up passing my parents (that's right!) and keep on moving, still waiting on KG to stop. FINALLY I made the decision to stop because we were starving and it was becoming obvious that KG was continent. So somewhere in Tennessee we stopped ran in McDonalds (my child DOES NOT eat McDonalds, her choice! but I'm good with that!) and were back in the truck within 30 minutes. Back on the road again. My parents have passed us now but not for long, lol. Ice cream stop (my dad of course) and this gives us the time to catch back up. As we approached the exit in Kentucky we saw the lights of the trailer and we exited off the interstate at the same time.

It was such a fun trip and if we never go back atleast Karlee Grace got to go! The first few days were bow season and EVERYONE saw a TON of deer. My favorite is Saturday morning (opening gun season), laying in my warm bed and hearing the gun shots go off.  I like to guess who shot and the group text messages are so funny.....who shot......sounded like Josh.....Josh did you shoot......no not me.......somebody is hunting the property line right beside me..........

We spent our days with Aunt Judy
watching mickey mouse

Daddy took Karlee Grace for her first four wheeler ride

Then later papaw took her.

A little lunch time visit with her daddy before he headed to the woods again!

Spent some time in the sun getting some of that fresh air.

Playing with Sadie.

Love this picture of these too!

Even got in some cousin lovin.

May not look like much to you but to me there are many memories!

AND of course all the excitement happens after we leave. My sister shot this monster deer, 15 point with a drop tine weighing in close to 300lbs!
(she might as well retire from hunting, they don't get much bigger than this!)

When it was all said and done Josh shot a jacked up deer (missing half the rack), Heath shot a doe, Calvin shot a 4 point, Katie shot a 10 point, dad shot an 8 point and of course Michelle. It was a successful hunting trip.

I could go on and on with the pictures! It's absolutely beautiful farm country!

I love making memories with my family! Hope to make many more in Kentucky.
